I now see why some people do the big chop. My hair is so hard to
detangle. Surprisingly, it is not the new growth rather the relaxed part or the point where the two meet. I was this close to pulling out my scissors last Saturday and going at it. I finally got it detangled
in the shower while slowly rinsing the conditioner out. I am now in search of a better conditioner. I have been using Cholesterol and
Pantene Relaxed and Natural, however, they are becoming less and less effective as the weeks go by. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated? Still I press...

First always detail in the shower. You could try "pre-pooing" before detailing. To pre-poo, use a heavy oil, such as olive oil and sit under a hooded dryer 10-15 mins. After that, load up on some cheap conditioner to "co-wash". My favorite right now is Herbal Essences Hello Hydration. Put a glob of that on your hair let it sit while you wash your body, and then with a very wide tooth comb rack through your hair while under the shower stream. This will reduce the amount of hair you will lose and drastically soften your curls. Another help will be co-washing and detangling more often, if you're not already try doing at least once a week. Hope this helps!
Sorry...I didn't proof-read, lol. That's 'detangle' in the shower and 'rake' through your hair with a wide tooth comb.
I will do it that way now. Up until about two weeks ago I could do it like I've been doing it. I co-wash at least once a week but haven't tried the pre-poo. I will do that next tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.
